I’d like to create an encrypted messaging system for use with coaching clients that would work both for 1:1 interactions with my clients or between clients in a BuddyPress site. I’m thinking that a unique salt value could be generated from the user’s account creation informaiton, and that I’d call Mcrypt to encrypt data in a Pre-save Helper. I’d retrieve the user’s salt value and decrypt the message on retrieval.

Am I on the right track? And has anyone done anything at all similar in Pods?

I think that would work, not sure about security standards involved though.

Hi Scott, by security standards, do you mean the requirements from a coaching ethics perspective? Or are you referring to something more technical?
